Becatalaiotica

The artist was awarded a €2,000 grant, the prize for this competition organized by the Associació d'Amics del Museu de Menorca with the support of the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Consell Insular de Menorca/Talayotic Menorca Agency. Utiyama created a kinetic installation in the site of Torrellafuda, inviting reflection on the nostalgia for unlived realities.

The Becatalaiotica 2024 programme kicks off on September 28 in Talatí de Dalt with a calendar of five events spread over the months of September, October and November. As usual, the different sites of Talayotic Menorca will become open-air stages where the five finalists will present their proposals.

The eighth edition of the Becatalaiotica cultural competition kicks off today, April 2, with the start of the registration period until June 2 at 11:59 pm. The main aims of the competition are to give visibility to young talent, to vindicate Menorca's landscape as a source of inspiration and to imagine new ways of inhabiting the island's prehistoric sites.

The Catalan violist wins a 2,000-euro study grant, the prize in this competition organised by Amics del Museu de Menorca and the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Consell Insular (Island Council).

The event will take place next Monday, July 10, from 7.30 pm in Torralba d'en Salort. The winner of Becatalaiotica 2023 will be announced and the winning event of the last edition will be repeated.

Becatalaiotica will take place at different Talayotic Menorca archaeological sites on May 13, June 4, 11 and 17, and July 1.
 

The closing ceremony was held today at Torralba d'en Salort, during which López received his €2,000 study grant. Entries for the next edition of Becatalaiotica open tomorrow, 12 December.

Becatalaiotica will close its sixth edition on December 11, starting at 11 a.m., at the Torralba d'en Salort site.

Registration to participate in this new edition of the Amics del Museu de Menorca and the Consell Insular project will be open until May 23.

Leire Pellejero is the winner of the fifth edition of Becatalaiotica 2021, an Amics del Museu de Menorca initiative that has the support of the Consell Insular de Menorca (CIM). The award is a 2,000 euros scholarship.
