Talayotic Menorca documentary

"Talayotic Menorca, an island cyclopean odyssey" in sign language

For more than a millennium the Talayotics built stone monuments that not only reflected their way of life but also their social organization, rituals and beliefs. It was an exceptional culture which bequathed us with navetas, talayots, taulas, circles and caves full of symbolism in which the stars were as important as the land on which they stood.

Hundreds of monuments that make up an essential laboratory for the study of the prehistory in the island territories. Menorcans have always proven to live up to a legacy like this, a priceless treasure they have protected from generation to generation.

The Consell Insular de Menorca promotes the documentary Talayotic Menorca, an insular cyclopean odyssey to support the candidacy for its entry on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The aim of this project is to face the challenge of ensuring its preservation; to discover and share this journey through a civilization which is still alive and present in every landscape of this island.

Filmed by Espiral Producciones TV SL, Talayotic Menorca, an insular cyclopean odyssey was directed by Manu Balaguer, written by Laura Jurado and with the archaeologist Amalia Pérez-Juez as script-advisor.
