The taula enclosures are possibly one of the most emblematic elements of Menorca, due to their monumentality and because of their uniqueness in the world. Over the past centuries, numerous researchers have hypothesized about the meaning of these structures.
This online conference will approach a recently published new hypothesis that suggests that the taula enclosures, which are religious buildings, follow the same pattern as the houses of the same period. In this context, the "taulas" would be symbolic representations of gates. Therefore, they would be an access to connect, within Talayotic beliefs, with the world of the divinities.
