Excursion: Open day at Cornia Nou

Imatge11 Dec

During November and December, excavations have been carried out at the Cornia Nou Talayotic site near Maó. On occasion of the 2021 Heritage Days, its directors will open the doors of the site to explain the excavation campaign’s results.

The archaeological excavation work continues to focus on the Western part of the great talayot where several buildings have been documented, and where we can find one which connects with the talayot through a corridor. During the excavation, a large quantity of charred cereals, ceramics, molons and remains of fauna were found ... and the funerary remains of several neonates. All this and more will be explained to us during the visit.
